I should be packing but why not procrastinate as much as possible and write a blog post?

Much more fun, I agree.

We move in T minus 5 days.

Am I ready?  Not at all but it's going to happen no matter what.  At this point, I'm sort of ready to just get it over with.  Every single weekend is filled with purging, packing, etc etc etc.  I'm over it.  Let's just move on and be done with it.  It's only a year of living in the rental with a million problems.

Moving on to much better things....

Let's talk about my current must haves!

1.  Hairdresser's Invisible Oil -- I got a sample of this at Sephora while in Ohio surprising my cousin for her 50th birthday.  I use a teeny drop of it every day and it works wonders in the smoothing, shine, and frizz busting departments.  A little goes a long way with this product.  I'm a big fan.

2.  Gold Starfish Havaianas -- I used to wear my silver pair (sold our, similar here) just about every day so I obviously came to the conclusion that I needed a gold pair since I wear a ton of gold jewelry and accessories.  I looked high and low and finally found these on Amazon.  Now I wear my gold pair every day.  I'm a Havaiana flip flop addict in the summer.  It feels so good to get that off of my chest.

3.  Estee Lauder Eye Cream and Moisturizer -- I wasn't thrilled with the previous eye cream I was using so I did some research on the best brands and Estee Lauder is near the top of the list.  I decided to give it a try since it's not crazy expensive and easy to find.  They were right!  I love it!  So much that I got the day moisturizer and foundation.  They are all making me so very happy...and smooth.  Oh so smooth.

4.  We Were Liars -- I'm halfway through this book and it's my favorite summer read so far.  I can't wait to find out what happens to all of the interesting characters.  If only I wasn't so exhausted at night and could stay up to read more than 5 pages at a time.

5.  GOOP -- Sign up now!  I love reading my daily GOOP.  It's a daily post filled with all kinds of information like travel guides, recipes, health advice, product recommendations, and more.  I read it and The Skimm on the daily.  You can sign up for their e-mails or like them on Facebook and it will pop up in your news feed!

6.  Foam Rollers -- Speaking of GOOP, this article on the benefits of foam rollers was very enlightening.  It's a must read!  I purchased this one off of Amazon and oh my, it hurts so good.  It's perfect for me since I have all sorts of musculoskeletal issues from Lupus.  I'm especially hoping it will help my hip bursitis issues.

7.  Florence -- My favorite Trish McEvoy lipstick color is back in stock so I snatched one up today.  I was also sold on the lip primer.  I've been wearing them all day and my lips are sooooo soft.  Get you some!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because it's my birthday month!!!  Let's hope this move doesn't ruin the whole thing, maybe just the first half.  It's my last year in my 30s.  Let's make it fabulous!

Nordstrom Sale Needs

Helllllooooooooo friends!

Once again, I've been up to my eyeballs with life and haven't had an hour to spare to sit down on the computer and chat with my favorite blogger peeps.  I miss it.  I really do.  I just have to prioritize right now during this crazy time, and blogging is near the bottom of the list.

I did feel the need to send a little note about the HUGE Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

It starts today and ends on August 2nd.  I would go ahead and get whatever you need now, because the good stuff doesn't last long.

These are my top 10 "needs" from the mega sale.  What do you "need"?  Did you get anything with the cardholder early access?  I don't have a card (I'm saving myself from myself) so I didn't get first dibs. Boo Freaking Hoo.  Add it to the long list of my first world problems.

1.  I get compliments every time I wear my Kendra Scott earrings.  I definitely "need" more colors.  There are so many to choose from.  I'm loving the pink!

2.  I love these necklaces!  Kendra Scott does no wrong and the tassels are fabulous.  The green is perfect for Fall.

3.  Speaking of green, I think the olive green color is THE color for Fall.  I love love love these suede booties.  What a fun neutral.  They're super affordable too.

4.  These may be the closest I'll ever get to my Stuart Weitzman wish list boots.  They are a great look-alike and the price is a steal.  My friend, Susan, has a pair and they're gorgeous in person!

5.  The best thongs ever created.  Love the prints!

6.  These are my favorite brand of jeans and the Florence "Instasculpt" does wonders for all the issues on the lower half of the body!

7.  Crossbody bags are one of the world's greatest inventions.  They are a must for traveling!  I love this pretty pink color on a chain.

8.  I never ended up getting a bucket bag for the summer.  I'm carrying the same purse as last summer.  Oh the horror!!!!  I think I definitely need to get this beauty for the Fall.

9.  I've heard a thousand times over that this curling wand is a must for creating perfect waves.

10.  This eyeshadow palette is $15.  They're practically giving it away.

Finally, I have to rave about the White House Black Market end of season sale.  I went in to return a shirt that I ordered and decided to return.  I ended up getting an entire outfit for under $50.  The jeans are $19.99.  Wowzas.

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because my bad little puppy figured out how to climb over his play pen fence in the mud room.  That led to scratching the door and pooping in the guest room.  I  was trying to be nice and give him a little freedom, but no more nice mommy.  He's back in his crate and none too happy about it.  Bad, bad, bad puppy.  Happy weekend friends!

Way Too Long

Hi, it's me.  Wow, it's been way too long.

Every day I promise myself I'm going to write a post and then something crazy happens, and then I realize how much I have to say because it's been forever so I do something else (like load the dishwasher or play Fashion Plates for the millionth time) and another day goes by.

My lack of posts mean that life is busy, crazy, and good.  There is no idle time any more.

Baby Girl has officially stopped napping and by the time I can actually have some peace and quiet at night, I just want to watch TV and relax.

That doesn't mean I don't miss my blog friends terribly and get mopey because I feel totally out of the blog loop.  I'm here in spirit...always!

So, here is a recap of what has happened over the past month.  Bear with me, this is bound to get wordy.

1.  We sold our house!!!  After 18 long, miserable months on the market, it's no longer my home.  And it is so bittersweet.  I get choked up every time I think about leaving.  It really is a dream home.  We are renting back through the summer (I'm renting my own home, it feels so weird) and moving to a rental on Daniel Island in August.  Here is a Home Tour if you want to feel my pain.

2.  The Architecture Review Board is my worst nightmare right now.  They keep rejecting the plans for our new house.  I went in this morning for an emergency face-to-face meeting (which they never do) to see if we can make them happy.  Ugh.  We were supposed to break ground in June.  This is not going according to plan and I get craaaaaaaaaazzzzzyyyyyyy when that happens.

3.  I spent hours and hours and hours on the internet looking for rental homes.  OMG it is slim pickings around here.  I saw so many really dirty, run down houses that cost an arm and a leg to rent.  It's highway robbery I tell ya.  We found something decent and I'm going to paint a room (because I can't deal with a clashing dining room for 13 months) and I keep telling myself that it's only temporary!  We are selling massive amounts of stuff (because we are going to a little over half the square footage of our current home) and it feels so good!  I love a good sale and purge!

4.  I've been dealing with hip bursitis for a few months now.  It got really bad and I broke down and went to see an Orthopedist.  I went to Physical Therapy for a month and started taking Celebrex (better than crack).  It got a little better but was still very bothersome.  I went back to the doctor and he gave me a hip injection with the biggest needle I've ever laid eyes on.  I, of course, had a rare reaction to the steroids and couldn't walk for 3 days.  I'm a medical mystery and should just learn to expect the worst.  I'm happy to report that my hip doesn't give me any trouble except for ballet class.  I can deal with that.  Until the shot wears off....

5.   Uno Mars, the biggest Havanese puppy that ever lived, is doing good.  He's doing great with potty training (except for the poop I just found upstairs on the floor puzzle) and growing by leaps and bounds.  He's 12+ pounds and only 5 months old.  I really wish he would stop growing!  This size is perfect.  He's still my leach and follows me around everywhere.  He still cries and barks when we leave him in his playpen/crate.  He's such a lover and is starting to be a better playmate for Baby Girl.

6.   We're headed to Magic Mike XXL tonight.  It's pure trash and I'm neither embarrassed nor ashamed.  It's a good excuse for a girls' night at Cinebarre.  I'm sure we will laugh our booties off which will burn all the calories I plan on consuming!  Baby Girl asked me what movie I'm going to see.  After I said "Magic Mike", she said "Oh I like magic too so you should probably take me!"  Bless her sweet heart.

7.  My summer goals for Baby Girl are to learn how to swim and learn how to read.  I'm so proud to say that she is swimming (finally)!  We've had 3 summers full of lessons and tears.  And then it just happened.  I take no credit other than for getting her to and from the lessons.  This was all her daddy. Bravo Mr. BMJ!

She's also reading!  I know.  I hate to be that mom and I'm not trying to throw it in anyone's face.  I swear it's these two different resources that I got her.  They are miracle workers.

First, go through this workbook.

Next, teach them to sound out the simple words in these first reader books.

Voila!  They're reading.

8.  I feel like a horrible mom saying this, but I'm ready for summer to be over.  I love the schedule of the school year.  I need routine and activities.  It's so stinking hot here in the afternoons that we feel trapped inside.  That gets old after about 20 minutes.  I'm the worst at pretend play and that's all Baby Girl wants to do.  I'm okay with structured play but there are only so many Fashion Plates that this mom can make in a day.  Don't judge.  I'm just speaking the truth.

9.  There has been so much going on in the news lately and so much of it centers around my city and state.  It sounds corny, but I just wish we could all get along and be kind to each other.  We all believe different things but that doesn't mean we have to hurt one another.  It makes me so sad and worried for Baby Girl's generation.  What will this world become?

10.  I've scored some amazing deals this summer from White House Black Market and Athleta.  Take a look.  Sales make me smile!  These were my faves.

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because I finally blogged!  Yay!  I'm so proud!

Sales Galore

I'm a Nordstrom lover because of their free shipping, free returns, and great sales!

These are some of my faves from the Half-Yearly Sale going on now through the 31st.  Many of them are basics that you'll wear on repeat.  Who can pass up a $16 top and a $9 fedora?!

Swing Tank $15.90

Joie Tank $118.80

Ann Taylor Loft has 40% off of everything!  Man oh man I love their sales!  There's so much good stuff, you could shop for hours!

I especially love this top.  It would look amazing with white jeans for a night on the town!

Anthropologie also has 20% off with code GONEFISHING.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?   Because we're taking the furry madman on vacation with us.  Wish me luck!  It will be an adventure, I'm sure.
