Overachievers

Alright, all you overachievers out there.  I broke my no Christmas decorating til December rule because I feel so behind and it's still November folks.  What in the world?  Like I said before, some of the stores in town had their halls fully decked on October 10th.  Why are we rushing this holiday?

With that being said, I've trimmed the tree, hung the stockings with care, and fought my way through the fake snow.  I still have the outdoor decorations left (the hardest and most time consuming), but since all my neighbors have me beat, I'm sure I'll have them up in the next few days.

I have to give credit to Mr. BMJ.  He helped me put the ornaments on the tree while watching one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.  We'll talk more about that later.  I decided give the most expensive Charlie Brown Christmas tree another chance.  I ordered the tree the first year we were in our house from Frontgate.  I was so thrilled and ordered it especially for a particular spot so I could showcase it in all it's glory.  When we got it assembled and put it in place, I cried.  Needless to say, it's not exactly what I thought I was ordering.  It is convenient, though.  You unzip the bag, put the top on, plug it in, and voila!

I have to watch the following Christmas movies every year.  I've been watching them for most of my adult life.  They may or may not make me cry every time.  We watched "Love Actually" last night while decorating.  The soundtrack is amazing too!

Are you an early bird decorator or have you put the smack down on decorating before December?  Do you watch any special holiday movies to get you in the spirit?

  1. Love Love Actually! and yep we decoarted this weekend. I usually decorate early because I head to Charlotte the whole week before Thanksgiving and it gives me more time to enjoy my decorations:) I have yet to tackle outdoor lights either- dreading it.
