Easy Apps

So, Mr. BMJ has a close family friend who he grew up with and who he and his siblings call their "common-law sister."  She's no relation, but they've always treated her and thought of her as a family member.

Confused?  Yeah, me too.

Anyways, we've never met in person, but have communicated on FB through the last few years and she's super sweet and always checks up on Baby Girl.

Well, she's leaving her tundra in Cincinnati and coming to the beach (though unfortunately, our weather is totally schizo lately and fluctuates 20 degrees on a daily basis).  She and her husband are coming over for drinks and apps before they go to dinner tonight.

Here's what I'm hoping to whip up for them to go with some Baby Mama Juice:
Tasty meat, pate, and cheese platter
(like this one by Natalie)
Corn and Ro-Tel Dip
(AKA Cowboy Crack) served with Fritos
Spinach Dip Bites
(the original recipe was for homemade Spanikopita filling on phyllo sheets, but I'm going to get pre-made spinach dip and bake it in phyllo cups with a little bit of parmesan cheese on top)

On my mind lately (I usually hate these kind of posts because they're too much work to click on the links - lazy much? - but just do it, trust me):

>Suri's Burn Book always says it best (and funniest).  Read what she has to say about the Kardashian baby drama here.

>Does anyone else find this a little disturbing?  I think pregnant women are beautiful, but this is a little creepy in my opinion.

>I was introduced to a this blog this week.  It's really funny stuff y'all.  Her post about "juice" hit very close to home.  I was reading it and thinking OMG, she is so right, I'm so busted.

>Remember my p.s. yesterday?  Here's an update.  Baby Girl slept until 10am.  She obviously missed school since she didn't finish eating breakfast until 11:30 (generally our lunchtime).  That means I didn't get a chance to get back to HomeGoods to get the purple lamp (our schedule was also completely bonkers all day long).  Hopefully the lamp will still be there next week.  Cross your fingers!

  1. Call and have them put that lamp on hold! Holly Madison is craaaazy. Although, I must say, she looks rather pretty without all that makeup on.

  2. I am reading your back posts (stalker) and OMG I want to make those spinach phyllo cups!

A toast to you for sharing your thoughts!
