Birthday Weekend Fun

That's right, we've been celebrating Mr. BMJ's birthday all weekend!  Lucky guy!

We took the three maniacs to the Japanese Steakhouse Friday night.  Baby Girl remembers it as the "fire place that hurts her eyes."  Silly baby.

He rang the birthday gong!

Baby Girl loves to use her "pickup sticks."

I ate too much.  (I'm now thinking I must have a tapeworm and that's why I'm so ravenous all the time.)

On Saturday I made red velvet cupcakes for the first time.  They're not my favorite flavor, but these were absolutely incredible.  Get the cupcake recipe here and the cream cheese icing recipe here.  The secret ingredient is coffee which makes it less sweet!

They were met with approval from my sous chef/food critic.

The recipe made 24 so I gave a few to our new neighbors down the street to welcome them to the hood.  (Heaven knows we did not need 24 cupcakes in this house.)

Birthday Mr. BMJ got to go to the Family Circle Cup Finals on Sunday to see Serena win!  He's wearing one of his birthday presents.  That shirt totally cracks me up.  He walks around singing that song all the time, so I just couldn't resist getting it for him.

Our Gourmet Sunday Birthday Eve dinner.

Today is the actual day so we have one more birthday dinner to go.  He's really milking this for all it's worth.  ;)  Happy Birthday love!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? 1. Because it's FINALLY gorgeous weather outside!  Yay for us!  2. I've been super unmotivated to do pretty much everything lately...blog posts, laundry, cleaning, exercise, home projects, etc.  How do you get motivated?  3. Looks like I'm going to be an Army Wives extra tomorrow!  Wish me luck.  It's going to be a long 12 hr day!  Yikes!
