Well, I didn't actually discover it. Those genius Italians did.
I didn't even find it. Mr. BMJ surprised me with a boat load of random fun wines to try from Total Wine the other day.
I opened this lovely straw colored wine for dinner Wednesday night to pair with my gourmet, frozen, chicken pot pie (hey, I never claimed to be Martha Stewart).
I've seen the Soave varietal many times in the grocery store and on wine lists at restaurants, but I've never been brave enough to try it. Why, you ask?
*First of all, I had no idea how to pronounce it. Is it like the shampoo or Rico's last name?
-Soave = so AH vay-**Secondly, I was afraid it was sweet. That's a big no no for these well trained baby mama juice taste buds.
-It's actually a crisp, dry white wine, usually from Northern Italy, that has fresh, fruity notes.-
If you live in Charleston and are in need of some gorgeous furniture or other home good items, be sure to head to Celadon. They're having a 20% off sale today and Saturday. Here's what' caught my eye during a little window shopping session. I loved a ton of things, but don't really need anything and Natalie's post today helped me reign it in!
Thanks for all the well wishes for my sick Baby Girl this week. She's on the mend! We were able to leave the house this morning and play outside for a bit.
I finally got the ivory Nate Berkus for Target tortoise shell! That color is super hard to find so I snatched it up when I spotted it the other day. Here's a close up and it's new home! It's definitely worth the $39.99 investment!
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?
1. Because we're going out to dinner tonight...just adults...oysters on the half shell...spicy mac and cheese....pink champagne...and maybe a glass of Soave or two. I can't wait! If you're out, come say hi at Hall's!
2. Because I didn't know about this delish Italian wine when I was there last month. Duh. I only drank Pinot Grigio. This would have totally enhanced my Italian experience. Sorry Mr. BMJ, it looks like we're going to have to go back to drink the Soave. Maybe Venice this time?! Just kidding...sort of.
