I Broke Down and Went

So, I bit the bullet and went downtown to see my bestie Hoda film The Today Show Live this morning.  She looked lovely as always.  I got to high-five KLG during their grand entrance on a horse and carriage ride.

I didn't make it on TV.  Bummer.  I have to apologize, in advance, for the poor quality photos.  They were taken very far away from the stage and from my couch while watching the recorded show (By the way, I watch TV in Closed Captioning - I'm pretty deaf friends.)

They filmed most of the show either off to the side or yesterday.   I'm totally bummed I wasn't at the market yesterday to see them in all of their ridiculousness.  They were doing a spoof on my girl Scarlett O'Hara in her dress made of curtains.

They featured Graham Daily with The Peninsula Grill and their amazing coconut cake.

Stacy Smallwood from Hampden Clothing presented a segment that featured some other great Charleston staples:

Polo Shirts
Monogram Necklaces
Needlepoint Belts
Bow Ties
Mason Jars
Callie's Biscuits
Seagrass Baskets

The amazing Lee Brothers whipped up some moonshine martinis for the new Southern Belles and cooked some delicious looking pickled shrimp, shrimp and grits, and apple cobbler dessert.  Yum!

Am I glad I went?  Absolutely!  It worked out perfectly and I got to see Hoda again.  Why do I like her so much?  She's funny, intelligent, kind, gorgeous, and was rushing off to fly to another destination for a book signing.  Girlfriend is amazing!  Do you like Hoda as much as I do?

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because I'm so fortunate to be able to do things like drop my daughter off at school and go to a special filming of The Today Show.  It's a pretty cool life I lead.

  1. I am so happy to hear that everyone was well enough for you to go!

  2. Glad you made it! Hoda is pretty cool. I think she went to Virginia Tech where my husband went.

  3. So cool! Remember all the times we went to NYC with plans to get up early and visit The Today Show, but somehow that never happened. I do love the Hoda woman. So glad you got to make it.

  4. That coconut cake is the bomb! Wish I had been in town for this- I totally would've gone too!

A toast to you for sharing your thoughts!
