A Little Joojing

I'm currently in an all-consuming, completely obsessed with home decor phase.  It's been going on for a few weeks now.  It all started with my pillow discovery.

I go from obsessing about clothes for months and then, BAM, out of nowhere I do a 180 and all my focus is on home decor.  Am I the only freakazoid out there who does is, or do you do it too?

In keeping with my current home fixation, I did a bit of "joojing" today.

I asked for advice about styling this area a few months ago.  The scale is all wrong.  Those tan fake plant things had to go.  The frame is too big.  The books are too big.  I finally decided what I was going to do with it this morning.

The palms came from my very own plant bed off of my front porch.  I just hope they last a while!  What do you think?

I still want a little something on the wall.  I was thinking a grouping of mirrors from one of the options below would work.  I don't want to take away from the Peter Lik photograph on the fireplace.  Which one is your favorite for the space or should I leave the wall blank?

Ballard Designs Alastair Convex Mirrors
Wisteria Scalloped Diamond Mirrors
p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because despite the fact that I had mouth surgery on Friday and haven't been able to eat like a normal person, I haven't lost any weight.  I thought this was my big chance to drop that extra 5 pounds that's hanging on like a a broke relative.  Nope.  Leave it to me to fill up on pudding, milkshakes, and other fattening junk.

  1. Your 'joojing' got this space just perfect, I'd say. What a cute little space. The second set of the wisteria mirrors would be such a unique addition, too.

  3. I'm the exact same way. I'm always obsessing about something, it's currently home stuff but last week it was clothes. I can't keep up with it! I prefer the wisteria mirrors personally. The little side table looks great! I like the fern in a vase, don't know how long it'll live like that but just pull a few more leaves off and stick them in there if it starts to die!

  5. I do the same thing, obsessively shop for clothes then move on to home decor. That made such a big difference and I am totally copying you and cutting some palms out of our yard- genius my friend. I hope your mouth is feeling better. They measure my gum everytime I go, I am terrified I will have to have the surgery!

  6. Looks great!! I do the exact same thing as you- I'm currently obsessing over changing everything in our house probably because this post baby body is making me hate fashion so now I want to change everything in every room of our house.

  7. I love that wall of mirrors. I have been painting my room for 5 hours today so I am defiantly on the home decor track right now. Far more exhausting then shopping!

  11. Looks great! Everything in my house is out of scale right now. I'm scared to change anything because I know a new lamp will require a new table, and then a new rug, and then we will have to paint the room, and probably update the kitchen.... cant take it.... plus, no changes would really help me out when I just need to clean!!

  12. I am catching up on all my blogs after being out of town, I hope you are feeling better!!

I swear I was just saying to my sister the exact same thing about how I spend my money. I will spend weeks updating and changing my wardrobe then one morning I wake up and it is all about my house. The changes you made to your table look great!!

  13. Love the new styling of the side table! So sorry to hear about your gum surgery. That sounds terrible! I'm a night grinder too. Every time I opened my mouth it would pop and click. Very charming. I wear a mouth guard at night now and it has saved my mouth. No more popping and clicking. Just thought I would mention it in case you haven't tried one. Hope you're feeling better and enjoying your wine soon!
