I'm preoccupied with prepping for my girls' night/birthday dinner tonight and getting ready for my house guest!
My sweet friend, Catherine, left her husband with the kiddos and is driving all the way from Tampa to celebrate my birthday with me. Fun times ahead!!!
It means so much to have friends who make the effort, sacrifice time away from their families, hire babysitters, and get their tired, overworked booties out on a school night on my behalf. It really does mean the world to me ladies!
We're going to The Macintosh for a tasty dinner and maybe to the new fancy, schmancy club across the street afterwards! Think they'll card me? Ha! I won't hold my breath!
I don't know how I'm going to choose what to eat. Everything sounds divine!
What to wear, what to wear? Dress, jeans, palazzo pants? Eeeek!
Anywho, I'll report on all of the above tomorrow. Hopefully I'll even have some pictures to share! (I'm the worst at getting pictures of myself.)
I have a few "Ask Me Anything" answers today for your reading pleasure....
1. Caycee asked "Do you ever miss working?" Honestly, no. Not at all. The only thing I miss about working is the adult interaction. Being a SAHM can get a little lonely at times, but it's the best job ever. When Baby Girl goes to full-time school in a few years, I may try to work a few hours a week, but I want to be able to drop her off and pick her up from school. I'm her mama first and foremost!!!
2. Amy asked "Cleaning lady, cook, or chauffeur?" No question about it, I would choose cleaning lady!!! If I could afford to have someone come multiple times per week to clean the house and do laundry, I would do it in a heartbeat. I love to cook and I don't mind driving!
3. Nat asked "What did you do before mommy hood?" I've done many things in my 37 years! I got my dad's entrepreneur genes! I went to graduate school for my Masters +30 in Speech Language Pathology. I practiced for about 2 years. I then worked at a company called Super Duper Publications where I wrote, edited, and sold speech therapy and special education materials. I traveled all over the US and Canada for 2 years doing that. I then moved to Charleston to become a Pharmaceutical Rep and did that for 7 1/2 years until I had Baby Girl. That's how I met Mr. BMJ, but that's the answer to another question, and another post.... Ha! Left ya hangin!
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because I'm still celebrating my birthday! Don't you just love a good birthday week?! I bought a few goodies downtown yesterday and I can't wait to show them but I'm keeping them under wraps until NYC Fashion Week! I have a huge "Thank You" for Anthony at Shoes On King and Stacy at Hampden Clothing! Best customer service ever!
