Happening In Threes

What a crazy few weeks it's been in my life.

Have you heard the saying that "things happen in threes"?

I hope it's true.  My third yucky thing happened this morning, so that means I'm done, right?

The first was my gum surgery, the second was Goobie's trip to kitty heaven, and the third was my Baby Girl's surgery today.

She had her adenoids removed and tubes put in both ears.  Poor, poor, poor baby.  It was traumatic for both of us.  I was reassured that we made the right decision when the surgeon said that her adenoids were huge and that she was going to feel much better now.

As I sat in the waiting room, feeling helpless and worried out of my mind, I couldn't help to think of all of the parents with children suffering far worse than Baby Girl.  I can't even begin to imagine how I would feel if she was diagnosed with something more serious, requiring more surgeries, and involving more risks.  My heart goes out to those parents and children, now more than ever.

The good news is that she was smiling and laughing and ate a full breakfast when she got home from the surgery.  Thank goodness that kids bounce back so easily!

That sweet petunia is going to be 3 in less than 2 months.  I can't believe how quickly she's growing up.

She's going to a Mom's Morning Out program two mornings a week this year.  She picked out her own backpack and matching water bottle.  They will be personalized with her name, of course!

Her first day outfit came in the mail.  It's adorable!  If you don't already shop from Southern Tots, you should!  They have adorable clothing!

We're going to have to finally think about a big girl bed.  She loves her crib so much, but she can't stay in it forever.  I already have a bed.  It's a simple, white, wood twin bed.  I'm not changing the color scheme because I love the pink and gray combination and I don't want to spend the money to replace the drapes, rugs, chandelier, and tables.

Here are a few, affordable options from Urban Outfitters that I'm considering.  Which one is your favorite?

I love these options from West Elm too.

And of course, we can't forget about Pottery Barn.  How cute is this?!

This pink quilt from Target will most likely go at the foot of the bed with the matching sham.

Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because aside from this stressful day, I'm so thankful that my Baby Girl had a succesful, safe surgery and that she is on the road to feeling so much better!

  4. She is going to be so cute in her new school outfit and kitty cat book bag!! Glad to hear her surgery went well. I really like the horse PB bed since she's just a little girl but if you want it to last her for awhile do with the West Elm Ikat! I'm partial to Ikat though!

  9. I do think bad things come in groups, but I am sure it will get better from here on out! Love all the options for your girls room, but you can never go wrong with ruffles in my opinion! Have a great weekend Amy!

  10. I'm so glad that your little peanut is feeling better. It's totally the truth that a trip to the hospital can really have you singing praises that we have our health. Worrying about my *future* children's health, already keeps me up at night, I don't know how you mama's do it!!

And on a totally other note, I love the first Urban Outfitters duvet! :)

    Happy weekend!!

  11. Aw, I'm so sorry your girl had to go through that, but she will definitely be a lot better now. My son had to have tubes, and he bounced back right after surgery, plus was relieved of ear infections! My little one just turned 3 - we should play date!
