NYFW Recap Part 1

Hi friends!  We're back from NYFW and to say it was amazing is the understatement of the year.  I have so much to share with my peeps!  I'm going to break up my recap into a few posts so you don't go cross-eyed trying to read it all at once.

We checked into The Plaza Hotel Thursday night.  This is our second stay at this gorgeous historical hotel.  It is amazingly luxurious, grand, peaceful, and dripping with customer service.  A little slice of heaven in the hustle and bustle of Midtown NYC.

A little post travel snack with a great Rose - Vie Vite.

Friday exceeded my expectations times a thousand.  It was truly one of the best experiences I've had in my 37 years.  I was so filled with excitement and anxiety, I'm still recovering from the emotional exhaustion of the day.

It started with my first NYFW Runway Show experience.  The show was sensational, the dresses were gorgeous, and the crowd was fabulous.  Lincoln Center was filled with the best people watching I've ever encountered.  Some were magazine worthy, others were...well...strange, to put it mildly.  I noticed that the crazier you look, the more interviews and photographs you're in.  I spotted Vanessa Williams in the front row at Carmen Marc Valvo's show.

We walked across the street after the show to grab a quick bite at the popular Rosa Mexicano.  The table-side guacamole and ceviche sampler were super tasty and just enough to fill me up without bloating me out to Timbuktu.

I expertly grabbed a cab ;) and we headed down to the Fashion District to Carmen's studio.  The building was filled with offices belonging to just about every designer you could ever think of.  They busted out the champagne, introduced us to the staff and their fabulous friends from Tulsa, and allowed me to try on every sample dress I wanted.  It was gorgeous dress mecca!

Carmen picked out not one, but TWO gorgeous dresses.  He is such a kind, humble, honest, and generous man.  I truly enjoyed his company and can't wait to proudly wear the dresses that he makes for me.

We spent all afternoon laughing, chatting, and enjoying everyone's company in the studio.  We rushed back to the hotel to get ready for our unexpected, to-die-for invitation to a private party at Carmen's home overlooking Central Park....

~To Be Continued~

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because I came home to a sick child yesterday and I'm quickly coming down with the same cold.  Bleh.  Welcome back to reality, mama!
