Long Story Long

I'm baaaaaaack!

We have so much to catch up on!  Pour a nice glass of BMJ and bear with me through this novel of a post!

I had a lovely and restful girls' trip to Asheville.  We stayed at the gorgeous Grand Bohemian Hotel.  It was the perfect location for us because it's in walking distance of the cute boutiques and restaurants in Biltmore Village.

On Monday, we were in the lap of luxury at one of America's Top 20 Resort Spas, The Spa At Grove Park.  I got a wild hair and decided on the Fire, Rock, Water, and Light Treatment.  Wow.  Just Wow.  I was a wet noodle afterwards.  I highly recommend it if you get a chance.

We ate at the Red Stag Grill Monday night.  The ambience is wonderful and the food was delicious!

For my friends on Instagram asking for deets on my shoes, they're Charlotte Olympia "Priscilla Rainbow" suede heels that I purchased on sale at Bob Ellis Shoes last year.  Mine are sold out, but you can find similar ones here.

We shopped a little Sunday night, Monday morning, and Tuesday morning.  They have such cute little boutiques in the Biltmore Village.

I picked up a few last minute Christmas presents and a few sursies for myself.

First, and foremost, I have to tell you about my new favorite jeans, DL 1961 brand.  I bought them at Monkee's of Biltmore Village.  They were having a 25% off sale and I just couldn't resist once I tried these gems on.  They are stretchy and suck in all the lumps and bumps.  They are so amazingly soft and feel like leggings.  They could truly be pajamas and beat my pajama jeans hands down (yes, I own a pair)!  The DL 1961 website is having a HUGE sale and they are marked down to practically nothing.

I purchased the Angels.  They are mid-rise, and cut a little shorter so they're perfect for my 5' 2 1/2" frame.   I don't even have to get them hemmed!

Ignore the party socks.

If you're taller, like my girls' trip friend Ashley, the Amandas may work better.  They are higher rise and cut a little longer.

I also took advantage of the J.Crew 30% off sale and picked up the red tartan plaid shirt and two comfy cute sweatshirts.

Before I left on Sunday, we went to visit Santa at the Country Club.  Baby Girl is still afraid of him and made me sit on his lap too.  Poor Santa.

She told him all she wants for Christmas is candy.  Guess I need to send back all the good stuff I got her!  She would have really liked her big present....

We also attended the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party that I was so looking forward to.   I'm confident that we nailed it!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because Baby Girl is probably going to take 2 weeks to get back on schedule after partying hard at her grandparents' house with her cousins.  She is beyond exhausted and has the sniffles again.  According to my super quick and easy Braun Forehead Thermometer (courtesy of Influenster), she is fever free!  Thank goodness!

  8. You know I love you for writing "girls' trip" instead of "girl's trip." Oh it's the little things for this grammar freak. Those shoes are so fun, esp bc you can wear them with so many different colors, clearly. I am loving that santa pic still. Ivy's face! And yes, if she gets a boat load of candy for xmas, I'll be happy to come over and eat some. I need a lunch date w/ you both soon! Hopefully after Christmas work will slow down and we can go somewhere nearby.

  9. I love Asheville, and the Biltmore is one of my absolute most favorite places! My husband and I are staying at the Grove Park for 4 nights for our anniversary and I could not be more excited to just relax and unwind in their spa. I've already picked out a couples treatment for us! The Grande Bohemian was one of our picks for hotels, as was the Biltmore Inn, but we ended up with the Grove Park mainly because of the spa :) I love those jeans, they look fabulous on you, and I'm totally short… so they would work for me :)

Glad you had an awesome time. And, is it too late for me to add that red Mercedes to MY Christmas list?! :)
