Sold Out

Thank You...
doesn't begin to express my gratitude for all of your sweet words and well wishes about my health post last week.  You all truly made my week.  I will give updates from time to time, but I don't want this to become a doom and gloom blog all about Lupus.

We have a busy upcoming week....

I have my first infusion treatment on Wednesday.  I have to be there for 4 hours. Yuck.  What a time suck.  My sweet friend Colleen is going with me to hold my hand and keep me company.  I'm so lucky to have such a great support system.  We are going to watch a few movies on the iPad.  Any recommendations?

Baby Girl has a rehearsal on Thursday evening for her dance recital which she calls her "concert."  The recital is on the 17th and I seriously cannot wait to see it.  I'm going to be one of those crazy dance moms while she's on stage.  This is one of her costumes.  Please excuse the blurriness but she was moving and shaking when I took it.

On Friday, Mr. BMJ and I leave for a long weekend in Chicago for his work.  He won't be doing much working and it's really just an excuse to get out of town.  Though I won't be at 100%, I'm looking forward to the change in scenery and time with friends and my man.  It's going to be in the 50s the entire time.

Ugh.  Back to winter wear.  I want to be warm but look like spring.  That's so much harder than it sounds.  I ordered these flats (they're on sale) to help with my walking/shopping/sightseeing efforts.  I can't wait for them to get here and hope they're as comfy as the reviews claim.  I'm crazy about the bows in the back and love the nude patent color.  If they don't murder my feet (like my Tory Burch Revas do), I will probably live in them!

Cole Haan Manhattan Flats

I'm off to clean my house and stock up on groceries since my mom and her friend are coming to babysit Baby Girl while we're gone!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because I was so looking forward to the Hampden Clothing Tibi Runway Show this Thursday.  I was hesitant to buy tickets because I don't know how I'll be feeling and Baby Girl has her rehearsal that late afternoon and we're flying out on Friday.  I decided to buy a ticket this morning and to suck it up and make it work.  It's sold out.  Boo hoo.  Guess it wasn't meant to be.

  1. Welcome to my world!! It doesn't get warm here until June or July. Major bummer!! Have a great weekend in Chicago. Did you get reservations to RPM Italian? It's so good. I also recommend Girl and the Goat, Bavettes Bar & Beof, Chicago Cut Steakhouse, Maestro's Steakhouse, La Scarola, Everest, Avec, Sepia, The Gage, The Publican... I could go on and on! Let me know if you need more dining suggestions. :-)

  2. i hope your treatment goes well!!
bummer about the weather in charleston! it's cold and rainy in chicago too. blah. but it should be nicer by the time you visit! -- also to comment on Chicago Mom's restaurant suggestions are great -- go to Girl and the Goats -- Little Goat Diner (just down the street from the other location) if you want some food that's not super smancy but delicious. I love their apple oatmeal pancakes.

  3. Could baby girl be any cuter?! My girls used to take dance, the recitals were the best!
Revas kill my feet too. Only thing that works for me are Tieks. Let me know how those Cole Haans work out. They're adorable!
I've got a couple of movie ideas. There's a documentary on blogging that I thought might be interesting. I'll bring my laptop so we can have some DVD's as back ups! See you soon.

  4. I’m just now catching up on your last post. We have a close friend that actually just got diagnosed with Lupus too. She only figured it out because of her hair loss. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. You’re one strong momma and lady! xx

  8. I'm sad I'll be missing the "concert!" She looks adorable. Post pics after! Also definitely let us know what movie you watched. The last two I saw you've already seen: American Hustle and Dallas Buyers Club. Oh, but Prisoners was realllly good. Intense, but good.

  9. Baby Girl is absolutely presh in that costume! I hope your infusion treatment goes by fast, def bring yourself some snacks too if they are allowed. You can't go wrong with Cole Haan shoes, good choice - cute too! And as for Chicago after living there for 2 years I found, unless it was July or August I was almost always freezing! If it wasn't the cold, it was the wind. If it wasn't the wind, it was the rain. But ohhhh the shopping! Have fun!!
