I have a bittersweet relationship with good ole summertime.
The weather is lovely and the activities are grand.
I do love wearing flip flops every day.
But, the lack of routine drives me batty and there are only so many times you can schlep to the beach with 3 kids and all their gear without wishing for mid-August and the return to normalcy.
It's only mid-June and I'm dreaming of jeans, Halloween costume planning, and pumpkin lattes.
Here are some things that are making summer a little cooler around here!
Mr. BMJ took the day off yesterday. We spent the morning at the "adult" pool at the country club (thanks to a morning camp for Baby Girl), had lunch and cocktails poolside, napped with Baby Girl, and went downtown for bikini shopping.
I got 2 new bikinis for our upcoming trip to Mexico (one week away, yay!). Yes, I said bikinis. I'm going to throw caution to the wind, suck it in, and go for it.
This hot pink bikini can be worn a million different ways. My favorite is to tie the straps across your body and wear it as a bandeau. It's comfy and flattering and such a fun color!
The picture doesn't do this one justice. The colors are much richer in person. This is not a "blend in" kind of suit. I need to start doing more planks STAT!
On our way home, we stopped for pizza at DeSano's Pizza Bakery. It did not disappoint!
I'm ordering Baby Girl a new suit. I found these on major sale right now ($19)! She may get 2!
Speaking of Baby Girl, she's been waking up at the butt crack of dawn lately. I can't handle a 5:30 wake up call unless I'm getting on a jet plane to a tropical vacation. We found this nifty clock that lights up at the time that you set it, like 7 am rather than 5:30 am. We
threatened instructed her that she can only get out of bed when the bug lights up. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but it's definitely helping!
Stay tuned tomorrow for a massive recipe post that I've been meaning to write for weeks now. The days are just getting away from me this summer. I think it's the lack of schedule we're suffering from!
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because I finally get to meet two fellow Charleston bloggers tonight in person, Shelby and Ally! We're going to have drinks and apps at Barsa. Looking forward to it girls!
