Happy Friday friends!
I know, two link-ups in one week?! I really loved her bucket list idea and well we all know that I love her too, so I just couldn't resist.
As Erin brilliantly stated, Summer Bucket Lists are the best because they only last the 3 months of summer and aren't hanging over your head all year round. Summer Bucket Lists are all about fun, sun, eating, and happiness. That's what summer is all about, right?
:: I want to make Father's Day very special this year. All the focus is always on Mother's Day and Father's Day always seems like an afterthought. I'm going to right that wrong.
:: I'm taking up adult ballet again. I dropped out after my diagnosis for a little R&R. I also didn't care for the ballet teacher. She was not exactly the warm and fuzzy type. The other ladies in the class found a new studio and teacher and it starts back on June 19th! I'm excited. I can do this!
:: We're going to sell this house so we can get started on our new one. I just know it. Positive thoughts.
:: Baby Girl is going to learn how to swim! She's much more comfortable in the water this year and she is dying to play in the big pool with the big kids. Her lessons start next week! I'm hoping for less crying this year and more learning.
:: There are so many new restaurants in Charleston that I want to try. They keep popping up all over the place and I've completely gotten behind and lost track. This city has the best food in the world. Just to name a few are: The Obstinate Daughter, Edmund's Oast, Chez Nous, Bay Street Biergarten, DeSano's Pizza Bakery.... And now my mouth is watering, stomach is growling, and I'm dying for a piece of pizza and glass of wine. And it's only 8:30am. This could be a very long and hungry day.
:: I'm going to lose 5 more pounds by September 20th. It's my 20 year high school reunion (how is that possible?) and the last time I saw most of these people I was 20 pounds lighter. I've already lost 5 and I haven't been exercising. I've completely changed the way I eat since I've developed low blood sugar from my medication. I eat 5-6 small, protein packed meals a day and I'm so full by dinner, I barely eat anything. My body is obviously liking this new pattern. The hardest part is remembering to pack snacks if we're out and about!
:: I'm going to try to enjoy our week-long summer vacation in July and not stress so much. So what if we're cramped in tight quarters? It's just a few days. The kids have fun and that's what matters. I'm going to be a new and improved, laid back, fun mom. Stress makes me sick. I'm over being sick.
:: I would love to have a girls' weekend in August. Something short, easy, and affordable. I'm going to need a break with no school or extra-curriculars for 3 months! I'm dreaming of spas and wine and peace and quiet.
:: I'm going to kick this nasty Lupus in the you know what and finally feel better. I'm already noticing a difference from my medications. I will be the greatest success story in Lupus history by the end of the summer!
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because tonight is the night of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society ball and I finally get to wear my second Carmen Marc Valvo couture gown. It takes my breath away every time I look at it. I may never take it off!
