This past weekend was the big charity ball that I've been waiting for.
In addition to it being a great cause (The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), and hanging out with good friends, I got to wear my second and favorite Carmen Marc Valvo couture gown. If you need the backstory of how I landed this amazing dress, read this.
I went to my beauty guru, the famous Donnie Ray Allen for hair and make-up. He twisted my hair to the side and actually sewed it in place with a needle and thread. Craziness.
A little confession, I usually freak out when my hair is a little different or not what I expected. I wasn't a fan of my updo at first and had a bit of a meltdown.
I did, however, fall in love with the whole look once it was all put together!
I felt like a movie star.
The dress, oh the dress. I warned my friends that they will be seeing this dress at every event.
My dress isn't available to purchase (yet) but here are some other gorgeous Carmen Marc Valvo creations.
Moving on to the handsome, dapper Mr. BMJ....
His unique, perfectly coordinating bow tie is handmade here in South Carolina.
It's a brand called Brackish which uses feathers to make their lovely creations.
They have so many gorgeous colors and patterns. His is the "Original" made from turkey feathers.
What a perfect Father's Day present one of these would make!
They sell them at Orvis and locally at Gwynn's.
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because I can't find a single person to go see "The Fault In Our Stars" with me tonight. Boo hoo. I want to see this movie so badly and tonight is the best night this week. I don't think I can wait another week. Okay, maybe I can, but I don't want to. I've never gone to the movies by myself, but am considering doing it. Do you judge lone wolf movie goers? Should I do it or wait until someone can go with me?
