My Dog Ate My Homework

We survived our family summer trip!

We loaded up the car with enough crap for 10 people going away for 30 days and drove through rural South Carolina for what seemed like 8 hours.  Luckily, it was only the 5 of us for 5 days and it took 5 hours to get there.  What a coincidence.

We went to The Ritz Carlton Resort at Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia. If you've ever considered going there, do it!  It's gorgeous, relaxing, quiet, and family friendly!

The lake is absolutely gorgeous and a nice change from the usual beach vacation.  The hotel is everything you would expect from a Ritz Carlton... customer service oriented and always clean and comfortable with awesome amenities!

We rented a boat and the older girls went tubing and wake boarding.  We attempted to pedal boat but it was harder than we remembered.  We swam in the infinity pool and lake.  We roasted marshmallows at the campfire to make smores.  We ate good food and enjoyed our vacation / parenting in a different zip code!

I posted the picture below on Instagram and several of you inquired about the dress.  It's a Love Sadie Maxi from one of my favorite local stores, Thera M.  I wear it all the time and always receive compliments on it.  The purple version seems to have sold out completely, but I found a few other lovely prints and this coral print is half off!  You can't beat $42 for such a comfy, versatile dress!

I'm also wearing my rose gold Charleston Rice Beads necklace.  I just love that piece and am anxious to get some stackable bracelets to add to my collection!

So sorry from my absence all of last week but I forgot my computer so I was semi-unplugged and not able to post anything.  That totally sounds like a "dog ate my homework" excuse bit I promise it's true.  It was quite nice but I did miss all of my blog friends!  Thank goodness for Instagram so I could stay in the loop!

One more thing, we've become addicted to the show "Flip or Flop" on HGTV.  I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out who the main character, Tarek El Moussa, looked like.  Then it came to me.  He looks like he could be Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s (from the Bachelorette) twin!

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because this is the third time I've tried to get this post out today.  Baby Girl didn't nap, my computer refused to upload the pictures, and now I'm finally sending it off into cyberspace after dinner, clean-up, baby bathing, and toy clean up.  Have a nice night and we'll talk soon!

  9. Looks like you had lots of fun! We've stayed at that Ritz a couple times, but our favorite, when traveling as a family, has been the one on Amelia Island. Have you stayed there? It's great, especially around holiday weekends, when there is so much planned for the little ones! In fact even though they are 19 and 17 now, they still ask if we are going to the Ritz on Amelia Island!
