I get giggles, eyebrow raises, and blank looks when I tell them my blog name...
Baby Mama Juice
There is a story behind that crazy name that attracts some very interesting people and is the result of many interesting google searches. I'll dish about those with you over a glass of wine one day. Some of them make me blush!
I swear I tell the story of how my blog got its name daily. It's my email address, after all. Imagine the look on the Christian pre-school secretary's face when I gave her my email. Sometimes I regret my unique name.
Then I remember where it came from and I know it's fitting. It will always be a sweet memory of my sweet Baby Girl.
So, here it is....
We were extremely attached to the Bumbo chair and Baby Girl sat in it for every meal from 4 months to 3 years old. Hold your mommy judgments for this one. She sat in it on the top of our kitchen island. She was able to sit there while I cooked dinner, while we all ate, and while I cleaned up. It really trained her to sit in her seat during meal time and allowed us to be together while I prepped and cleaned. It was wonderful and that's why I held onto it for so long.
Every night while we were eating dinner, from the time she could talk, she would point to my wine glass and say "Mama's juice?"
I would say, "That's right baby, that's mama's juice."
I started calling wine under the code name "Baby Mama Juice" and it just stuck.
Do you love your blog name? Is there a story behind it?
p.s. Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice? Because I've had to bribe Baby Girl to go to camp without crying this week. I don't know what brought this on and why she all of the sudden decided to have attachment issues, but she is hysterically crying at drop-off almost every morning. I didn't think I was going to be able to leave her on Tuesday it was so bad. She's been to a few other camps there this summer and we've been taking classes there since she was 10 months old. The bribes work so that's good, but I'm really worried about school drop-offs coming up in 2 weeks.
