Under Consideration

1.  I'm considering trying out Plated.  It's a business that allows you to choose up to 7 different menu items per week.  They ship all of the ingredients to you along with the recipes and you whip up tasty dinners for your family.  I'm not a weekly menu planner and some days (like today) the thought of dragging arse to the grocery store with Baby Girl in tow to try to come up with something creative for dinner at the 11th hour makes me want to cry (and drink heavily).  Plated does everything for you.  Genius.  I would probably order enough for 3 nights per week.  Then I can take special requests and we can go out as needed.  It's actually more cost effective than me going to the store every night.  Our grocery bills are outrageous.  Have you tried Plated or something similar?  What was your experience?

2.  I'm considering ordering Isagenix.  I think I would just start with the 9 day plan to see if I can do it.  It's a meal replacement program that involves protein shake mixes.  I'm worried that the taste of the shakes is going to make me barf and that it won't work if I cheat on the weekends.  I've been taking Plexus Slim for almost 2 months but am not getting the results I need (more on that later, it has been a good thing).  I just can't drop these last 10 pounds no matter what I do.  I've heard good reviews on Isagenix.  Anyone with any first-hand experience out there?!

3.  I'm considering selling an organ (or possibly a child) for these boots.  I mean seriously.  I know they've been around a while and are very "blogger" uniform but I LOVE THEM!  I seriously have a physical reaction when I see them.  Suede, over-the-knee, back ties.  Yes, come to mama.  Maybe Santa will put them under the tree?!

4.  When we finally sell our house and move, we're planning on getting a dog.  I'm considering a long-haired dachshund.  They are seriously adorable and meet our size, personality, and care requirements.  Couldn't you just eat her precious face up?  Eeeek!  Any dachshund experts out there?

p.s.  Why do I drink Baby Mama Juice?  Because I've been a total bah humbug about Halloween this year.  It's usually my favorite holiday and time of year and I go all out with decorating.  I haven't done anything except put 3 pumpkins on our porch this year.  I felt so guilty when Baby Girl said that she loved all of our neighbors' scary Halloween houses that we went to the Dollar Store and picked up some things.  We also made a ton of Kleenex ghosts yesterday to hang.  Our good decorations are buried under the Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter decorations in a closet.  I need a better system in the new house!!!

  2. those dogs are ADORABLE! my brother, grandpa, and two uncles have dachshunds (all short-hair) but I think the long hair ones are even cuter!

  3. I have used a meal delivery system before and it worked out okay. The system I used didn't allow you to chose your meals so sometimes what was sent wasn't my favorite. Plated sounds like a good option. I really liked that it showed up at my door all measured and everything plus that meant quick trips to the store for sone basics!

  4. I tried Blue Apron for a couple of weeks, but they do not let you choose the meals that get sent. I loved the convenience but the family only loved 2 out of the 6 meals. Let me know how you like Plated. I am also researching Isagenix. Let me know what you decide. I am currently trying Nature Box and love that service for nutritional snacks.

  5. You must be reading my mind. I've been thinking about doing Plated, dying to see how you like it. Love those boots, I've had my eye on the low heel leather version but not sure I can pull them off. Did you decide to pull the trigger with the shorter, blonder hair?

  6. I'm curious to hear about plated if you try it. And I just laughed SO loud about you selling an organ or a child for the boots- you're a hoot!

  7. I was thinking about Plated recently too! Anything to make life easier! I'm also considering another food/grocery delivery service because I too hate going to the grocery store and will not be hauling 3 kids 3 & under with me at 5:00pm to figure out what's for dinner. I'd sooner feed us all cereal, ha! OH but wait, we have that cow coming so we can just eat beef every night for the next 6 months. Those boots are amazing!! Don't beat yourself up over the lack of Halloween enthusiasm....Baby Girl will remember what you did do and I bet she thinks it's all awesome!!!

  8. Holy boots! Get 'em girl! Fierce. I love the idea of Plated. If you get it, you must blog about it! But isn't that a given? ;) Also, your comment on my blog today make me snort laughing. You're so freaking funny.

  11. My husband did the Isagenix for 10 days this year. It was not fun at all, not that they are suppose to be. He really didn't see any great changes. If you do, make sure you plan it around what you have nothing going on in your life. His 10 days was over Memorial Day Weekend, no drinking for him. The key to the shakes is to chug them, they taste horrible.

  12. I am also researching Isagenix! It is also supposed to help inflammation and all sorts of other issues! I have a friend that did it and she was super skeptical but she loves it. I can give you her email address!!!!! Maybe we can do it together. I'm thinking of starting december 1st to help with baby weight but i can only start with 1 shake a day since i'll be breastfeeding.

  13. I had dachshund's growing up so they hold a special spot in my heart! Such sweet little pups! I had short haired doxies, but definitely think the long-haired are adorable. The only thing I'd say is that they tend to have back problems because of their stocky bodies and little legs. I'd also recommend looking into the Havenese breed - I have an 8 year Havenese that's the sweetest little lapdog you come imagine. The breed is known for being the "velcro" dog because they stick to your side at all times!

  18. OMG you are so funny!! I went to go get pretty pumpkins last Sunday and guess what?? they are all gone! the pretty cinderella type...or large, large ones!! GONE! Then today I drove past the really nice neighborhood with all the mansions....this is where they all are...the homes here had like 50 each!! I want pretty pumpkins! I actually think I need to go and take photos! Also, get the boots...I go through this where I love something that every blogger has and don't want to get it because they all have it...but guess what?! most of your friends and people you hang out aren't bloggers so they won't know they are so in...and you will be so cool and happy with your boots! It's like me and that west elm Moroccan rug...I'm in love with it and want to sleep there at night!xx

  19. Hello! Too funny you posted this, because we just started using Plated and L.O.V.E. it. Honestly, it's so awesome. We have tried so many new things that we never thought we'd be able to cook, and they've all been great. We use it every week now, just a meal or two to shake things up, and I cannot say enough good things about it. The customer service is also amazing. Second..Isagenix. I love it, totally addicted. I would say to NOT start with the 9-day system. That's a very disciplined system, and I usually only recommend it for athletes before a competition. It's honestly very hard to stick to. I'd highly recommend the 30-day Cleanse. It is not as hard you might think. The shakes are better than others I've had. I lost 14 pounds on my first 30 Day, and that was after 6 straight months of doing everything I could think of and not seeing the scale move. The best part is...so much more energy, and feeling great! If you have a contact, go through that person. It's really nice to have support and a place you can ask questions. If not, I'd be happy to help! Good luck!
